2017 Midwestern Sectionals Spotlight: Colton Johnson

November 30th, 2016

Colton Johnson performed an overall technically solid short program, executing a beautiful 3Lz2T and 3Lo. However, the program lacked its usual spark, which was reflected in his score.
In the free skate, Colton earned a positive GOE on his 3S and 3T. Although he made a few mistakes, he performed with emotion, making a tangible connection with the audience.

We are proud of you, Colton! Onwards and upwards!

This past week was filled with excitement and competitive fervor, and we could not be more proud of our athlete’s performances!

Kaelin Sweet is the NEW 2017 Upper Great Lakes Regional Figure Skating Championships Pre-Juvenile TT CHAMPION. She finished first in her Qualifying Round (QR) and skated a polished and CLEAN performance in her final round to capture the Gold!

Olivia Slack skated mentally strong, showing great improvement in her stable competitive mentality.  She posted her PERSONAL HIGH SCORE in the QR long program, and while she made some silly mistakes, the process that she and Coach Thomas Amon are working on definitely showed a positive course!  She did not make final round, but found happiness and gratitude in her work ethic and improvement this past season. Onward and upward!

Krisalyn Cook could not have peaked at a better time. She skated a CLEAN program on her QR group for PrePre. She was amazing! Although she did NOT make final round and came 7th (they only took the top three), her accomplishments this season have been extraordinary!

Congratulations to these three stellar athletes and cheers to their hard work!
